Our Mission

President's Greeting Greetings, and welcome to the Louisiana Chapter of HFMA’s website. I am greatly honored to serve as your president of the Louisiana Chapter of HFMA. The Board of Directors and I began planning for the 2009-2010 year in April at HFMA’s Leadership Training Conference. It is our intent to continue to provide an excellent opportunity for you, the member, to obtain education and knowledge on important topics and issues facing us today as well as meeting and discussing these topics and issues with your peers allowing for collaboration and sharing of ideas. The HFMA Annual National Institute (ANI) was held in Seattle, Washington the week of June 14, 2009. The many changes we face over the next couple of years was the resonating topic of discussion; from payment reform and economic concerns to MACs and RACs. “Making It Count” is the theme of HFMA for this next program year. National Chair, Catherine A. Jacobson, FHFMA, CPA developed this theme at a time when financial considerations are most critical to our organizations. Ms Jacobson states: “the theme Making It Count will help focus HFMA’s various services and initiatives around a core quality in its members that needs to be recognized and nurtured; the drive to make it count by putting their business leadership skills in the service of improving our healthcare system.” The Louisiana Chapter was honored at ANI for a truly outstanding year. At the Awards Banquet, our immediate past-president, Michael Mouisset, accepted four awards of achievement attained by our chapter. They were:
These awards are an indication of the hard work and dedication of our chapter volunteers. Congratulations to Mike Mouisset for a great year of leadership. Outstanding! These great accomplishments come at the hands and hard work of our chapter volunteers. We encourage you to get involved and make the most of your membership. It really means a lot that you’ve placed confidence in this “yankee” to lead your chapter this year. I’d also like to thank my employer, Lafayette General Medical Center for allowing me to serve the chapter these many years. I look forward to another great year of successes for the Louisiana Chapter of HFMA and I’ll see you in Shreveport this August.
